How FluxDiagram Uses Artificial Intelligence

FluxDiagram generates animated visuals using AI. This page explains which AI providers are involved, exactly what data is shared with them, and what is never shared. We believe you deserve a clear picture of how your descriptions become animations.

How FluxDiagram Works

FluxDiagram is a functional content tool. You describe an animated diagram or visual in plain language — for example, "a three-step funnel showing Lead, Trial, and Customer with animated counters" — and FluxDiagram translates that description into a working animated visual you can embed directly in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote.

The generation pipeline works in three steps:

  1. 1You describe — You write a description of the animation you want. This description, along with a system prompt that instructs the AI to produce valid React/Remotion code, is sent to an AI provider.
  2. 2AI generates code — The AI provider returns React/Remotion animation code. This code is validated and sandboxed before it reaches your browser.
  3. 3Rendered as an animated visual — The code is rendered using Remotion (a React-based animation framework). Free tier users see a live browser preview; paid tiers can export as GIF, MP4, or WebM for embedding.

FluxDiagram is not a general-purpose AI chatbot and is not designed to generate written text, deepfakes, or any content unrelated to animated diagrams and visuals for professional presentations.

Which AI Providers Are Used

FluxDiagram routes animation generation requests to one of three AI providers depending on the complexity of the request and your subscription tier. No single provider sees all requests, and the provider used for any specific animation may vary.

Anthropic — Claude Sonnet 4.6

Premium tier

Used to generate higher-quality animations for Starter and Pro subscribers with complex or detailed descriptions. Anthropic is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, USA. Anthropic Privacy Policy

OpenAI — GPT-4o-mini

Standard tier

Used to generate standard animations for Free tier users and for straightforward descriptions on paid tiers. OpenAI is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, USA. OpenAI Privacy Policy

Google — Gemini Pro

Premium tier

Used as a fallback or alternative for premium-tier generation. Google LLC is headquartered in Mountain View, CA, USA. Google Privacy Policy

Provider selection is automatic and based on request complexity and tier availability. FluxDiagram may add, remove, or substitute providers as the service evolves; this page will be updated when that happens.

What Data Is Sent to AI Providers

When you generate an animation, two pieces of information are sent to the AI provider:

  • Your animation description — the text you write in the description box, exactly as you wrote it. This is the input the AI uses to understand what animation to build.
  • A system prompt — a fixed set of instructions authored by FluxDiagram that tells the AI to produce valid React/Remotion code. This prompt is the same for all users and contains no personal information.

Nothing else is included in the request. The AI provider receives a single API call containing the system prompt and your description, and returns animation code. The API call does not include your account ID, email address, IP address, payment information, or any other user data.

What Is Never Sent to AI Providers

The following data is never included in requests to AI providers:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Your payment information or billing history
  • Your IP address or device identifiers
  • Your previously generated animations or their code
  • Other users' data or descriptions
  • Your brand kit settings (fonts, colors, logo)
  • Your usage history, subscription tier, or API keys
  • Any data from your Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote files

FluxDiagram treats your account data as strictly separate from the AI generation pipeline. The AI providers act as stateless code-generation services; they do not have access to your FluxDiagram account.

Training Data Opt-Out

All three AI providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google — are accessed via their API (application programming interface) products, not their consumer products. Under the API terms of service for all three providers, data submitted via the API is not used to train or improve their models by default.

Your animation descriptions are not used to train AI models.

This is the default behavior under API terms for Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. FluxDiagram has not entered into any data sharing agreement that would override this default.

You can verify this directly in each provider's API terms:

Who Owns the Generated Animations

You own the animated visuals you generate. When FluxDiagram generates an animation in response to your description, you receive a license to use that animation for any lawful purpose, including commercial use in your presentations and publications.

FluxDiagram retains a limited license to store, render, and deliver the animation code for the purpose of providing the service to you — for example, to display the animation in your browser, to process an export request, or to generate an embed URL. This license does not allow FluxDiagram to resell, publish, or redistribute your animations to other users.

The AI providers themselves do not assert any ownership over outputs generated through their APIs. You can verify this in the terms of service for each provider linked above.

Content Moderation

Before your description is sent to an AI provider, FluxDiagram screens it for content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy. Descriptions that contain prohibited content — including but not limited to hate speech, harassment, sexual content involving minors, or content designed to facilitate real-world harm — are rejected before they reach any AI provider.

Automated moderation is not perfect. If you encounter an animation request that was incorrectly blocked, or if you discover content that should have been blocked but was not, please contact us at transparency@fluxdiagram.com.

Limitations of AI-Generated Output

AI-generated animations may not always match your description exactly. Common limitations include:

  • Imprecise layout— The AI interprets natural language, so phrasing like "three columns" or "centered" may produce slightly different results than expected. Rephrasing or using more specific language usually improves results.
  • Animation timing— Specific timing requests (e.g., "fade in over exactly 1.5 seconds") are approximated. Exact timing is not guaranteed.
  • Complex compositions — Very complex animations with many interacting elements may produce partial results. Breaking the description into smaller parts and regenerating often helps.
  • Factual content — FluxDiagram does not verify the accuracy of any numbers, labels, or text included in your description. You are responsible for the accuracy of data displayed in your animations.

If an animation does not meet your needs, you can regenerate it at no additional animation credit cost, or refine it by providing a more detailed description. FluxDiagram is a functional diagram tool — it does not generate photorealistic images, video of real people, or deepfakes.

Regulatory Compliance

FluxDiagram monitors developments in AI regulation, including the EU AI Act and FTC guidance on AI transparency, and updates its practices accordingly.

EU AI Act Classification

FluxDiagram is a functional content generation tool — the same regulatory category as Canva, Excel charts, and Google Slides Smart Art. Animated diagrams produced by FluxDiagram are functional visual aids, not AI-generated content that requires per-item disclosure under current EU AI Act guidance. FluxDiagram is not a high-risk AI system as defined by Annex III of the EU AI Act.

This classification is actively monitored and will be updated if regulatory guidance changes.

FTC AI Guidance

FluxDiagram provides this AI Transparency page in the spirit of FTC guidance on transparency in AI-powered services. We do not make deceptive claims about the nature of FluxDiagram's output, and we do not represent AI-generated animations as human-created work.

GDPR and Data Processing

The transmission of your animation description to an AI provider constitutes processing of personal data if the description contains information that could identify you. FluxDiagram's lawful basis for this processing is contractual necessity — it is required to provide the service you have requested. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement for full details.
